A new process for the pragmatic choice of wind models in complex terrain
The aim of this project is to develop a new industry-relevant process for the selection of the most optimal wind model with the least computational effort and cost for the accurate representation of flow conditions in complex terrain. This process is intended to provide decision support to modellers, for example in wind assessments, as the accuracy of the simulation has a large impact on the expected profitability.
This project is funded by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, ewz, Enercon und ADEV and will be carried out together with Meteotest (early 2019 to late 2020). It is also part of a larger German project together with Esslingen University of Applied Sciences and Stadtwerke Tübingen, and is funded by DBU.
