Study contents and study structure

You benefit from a practice-oriented generalist education and can choose between seven focus areas on the main course.

The Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration can be completed full-time or part-time while in employment, in both the General Management or Business Information Management Majors. The last three semesters of the Major in International Management can only be completed as a full-time student.

The content of the Bachelor’s Program in Business Administration at Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences is divided into five fields of study and it focuses on key skill sets.

Forms of study

For the General Management major, the Bachelor’s program in Business Administration at Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. The final three semesters of the International Management major can only be completed as a full-time course.

The full-time course generally takes six semesters (three years) to complete. Classes are held during the day from Monday to Friday. Study hours are between 7.30 a.m. and 5.15 p.m., depending on the timetable.

The part-time course usually takes eight semesters (four years). Classes are held weekly on Tuesday afternoons and evenings, on Friday afternoons and evenings, and alternately on Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings. These lesson hours allow for an employment level of at least 50%.

At the end of your degree program, you write your Bachelor’s thesis. You must choose a topic that you are interested in and which corresponds to your work and career goals. The chosen topic must usually establish a link between the program contents and your practical work.

After successfully completing the program (including the Bachelor's thesis), you may carry the title «Bachelor of Science OST in Business Administration».
