Glimpse into an Exchange Semester

Computer Science students share their personal insights and experiences from their semesters at our renowned partner universities, highlighting the many advantages of studying abroad.

Guest Lecture

Following this, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Victoria López, Associate Professor and Director of the School of Engineering at CUNEF University in Madrid, as well as Head of the Computational Intelligence Research Group. In her presentation, “Computational Intelligence and Its Application in Mental Health”, she will demonstrate the interdisciplinary nature of artificial intelligence in the field of mental health. A short abstract in the language of the presentation will follow:

This talk explores how computational intelligence, including fuzzy systems, sensor integration, and machine learning techniques, can transform the way we understand and manage mental health disorders. Drawing from real-world research projects and clinical collaborations, the session highlights innovative approaches to detecting depressive states, forecasting bipolar episodes, and characterizing emotional well-being using data from wearable devices and digital interactions. The talk also addresses challenges such as data privacy, model validation, and human-centered design in AI applications. The aim is to present a comprehensive, critical view of how intelligent systems can enhance mental health care and empower both clinicians and patients.
