Financial decisions are a key aspect of autonomy in later life. When older adults need support, family members or institutional caregivers often take on an important role. This shared responsibility – known as “financial caregiving” – can be challenging, but it also offers opportunities for partnership and trust.
The Tandem Finance project, initiated by the Institute for Ageing Research at OST, focuses on exactly this: How can older adults and their relatives manage financial matters in a way that eases the process for both sides and preserves independence?
