Analysis of the low-frequency vibration behavior of an aerial tramway cabin using multibody simulation
This study virtually determines measures to improve the ride comfort of aerial tramways. For this purpose, an elastic MBS model of a real-world aerial tramway serves as the foundation.
In this Master's specialization project, the double-cable aerial tramway Frümsen–Staubern was modeled using multibody simulation to analyze and targetedly improve its low-frequency vibration behavior. The objective was to sustainably enhance ride comfort for both the existing system and future aerial tramway designs. Various measures were derived—ranging from conceptual solutions to quick troubleshooting approaches—which are now being tested in real-world conditions.
