PowerSlide – Motorized and Energy Producing Sliding Shutter

The goal of the project is to develop motorized sliding shutters equipped with PV modules: PowerSlides – shutters that provide protection, shading, and electricity generation all in one product. An innovative modular system with fully integrated technology and a wide range of design options allows for the visual design of the facade and easy exploitation of its energy potential.

Several prototypes have been built and are undergoing scientific evaluation. Simulations, measurements, and long-term monitoring, enable a reliable estimation of the energy yields of the various designs. Stress tests and accelerated aging procedures are used to assess the robustness and durability of the structures. To ensure a high degree of prefabrication, a microinverter is being developed that can be built into the PowerSlides and is optimized for the space and temperature conditions prevailing there.
