3D Computer Vision / Image Processing

Image processing is about capturing and processing image information. We develop systems that extract 3D information from a set of 2D images and generate 3D models. This can be interesting, for example, in the medical field (CAD models from CT scans) or in the development of autonomous devices that create a 3D world for navigation in an unknown area. Another very popular application at the moment is the creation of 3D models for geographical information systems such as Google Earth.

 

AI (Artificial Intelligence)

Today's expert knowledge is very broad and deep. If this knowledge is also to be made available to non-experts in software, it must be structured and stored specifically for the respective needs. We have been working on the topic of “knowledge-based systems” for years. For example, in collaboration with Semfinder AG, we have developed the “Semfinder” interpreter, which works with a basis of several tens of thousands of rules. Semfinder interprets medical diagnoses and procedures by means of semantic analysis, generates the ICD-10 and OPS-301 codes fully automatically and guides the user to rule-compliant coding and flat rates.

CAx-Systems

We have many years of experience in the development and prototype realization of CAD systems. Our expertise covers most areas of this field. We have in-depth knowledge

  • in the use of CAD kernels such as ACIS, OpenCascade, SMLib,...
  • in standardized data interfaces such as STEP or IFC
  • in CAD programming interfaces of common CAD systems (CATIA, UG, PRO/E, Solidworks, Inventor, Autocad, ...)
  • in parametric data exchange between different CAD systems with a self-defined standard as well as via new standard interfaces (STEP)
  • in the general structure and development of CAx systems

We often use our in-house development ClassCAD as a basis.

ClassCAD

ClassCAD is an object-oriented CAD operating system developed at the former FHS St. Gallen (since 2020 OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences), which enables rapid development of industry-specific CAD software solutions. Classes or features developed with ClassCAD are inherently parametric and provide a broad foundation of core CAD functionality. ClassCAD is available as a standalone system or as a plugin for various CAD systems such as UG, Pro/E, Inventor, AutoCAD, etc.
