The three winners of the Age Innovation Prize 2023 will each receive the following:

  • A 20-hour consultancy package from Switzerland Innovation Park Ost, worth CHF 3’000, to support them in acquiring key customers and development partners in the region.
  • IAF Institute for Ageing Research each a co-creation workshop with their target group, worth 7’500 francs. These workshops are intended in particular to serve the orientation of the innovation or the clarification of questions in cooperation with the target group.

In addition, the three projects will be given the opportunity to network and present themselves at AGE-INT events, for example at the Switzerland-wide AGE-INT Roadshow.

Testimonials of the winners

‘We have used the Age Innovation Prize 2023 award money for our current research project on the detection of sleep disorders. Further funding has enabled us to set up an additional radar system at Switzerland Innovation Park Ost in St. Gallen, which can be viewed and tested. In addition, we received support from the IAF Institute for Ageing Research for an SNSF application. The winning team thanks you for the Age Innovation Prize 2023.’

Michael Gottinger, ESA Institute for Electronics, Sensors and Actuators

‘In retrospect, winning the Age Innovation Prize 2023 has given us an enormous boost. We have been able to raise public awareness of the problem of hip fractures in older people, an issue that most people are unaware of in this dimension. It is important to mention that the prize does not end with the award itself, but marks the start of a collaboration with OST at various levels, which we greatly appreciate. It is a win-win-win for the award winner, the innovation landscape of Eastern Switzerland and older patients.’

Markus Windolf & Patrick Stepanek, BIOS Medical AG

‘The Age Innovation Prize is a huge recognition for me and my team. It is a recognition of all the hard work we have done over the past few years. It came as a complete surprise, my team and I are thrilled.’

Pascual Brunner, Movement Sciences AG
