In an earlier project (VinyAcid), it was found that the dosed addition of PVC sorting residues in MSW incineration plants not only produces more acid but also shifts heavy metals from the slag to the filter ash. This enables heavy metals to be recovered from the filter ash.
In cooperation with waste incineration plants and landfill operators, field tests are being carried out on the ‘artificial’ carbonation of MSWI slag. This achieves a chemically inert state (‘earth crust quality’) of the slag, so that heavy metal emissions discharged with the landfill leachate are reduced or prevented in the long…
UMTEC has discovered that a combination of paper ash and selected, finely ground waste materials has very good binder properties. In this innovation project, a binder formulation is being optimised for use as exterior wall plaster.
UMEC has discovered that tyre abrasion has magnetic properties. This innovation project is investigating the technical and economic feasibility of new types of tyre abrasion collectors based on magnetic separators. A patent application has been filed.
Tisca Tischhauser AG would like to promote the environmentally friendly disposal of the artificial turf it produces. This strengthens the sustainability of the high-quality Tisca artificial turf.
