The following opportunities are open to you:

  1. Clinical practice and nursing expertise: With this Master’s degree, you can work as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in various clinical settings, for example in hospitals, psychiatric clinics, nursing homes and outpatient care (Spitex).

  2. Registration as an APN-CH: You can register as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN-CH). This enables you to work in advanced roles requiring a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. This provides you with additional career opportunities. You are entitled to use the trademark-protected title ‘Nursing Expert APN-CH’. Thereby, you prove that you possess the necessary qualifications, skills and prerequisites to perform your work on your own responsibility.

  3. Leadership roles: You are qualified to take on leadership positions in healthcare institutions. This includes leading teams in a management function or assuming specialist leadership roles in nursing development.

  4. Counselling and coaching: In health promotion centres, nurse-led counselling centres or as mentors, you can pass on your knowledge and support other nursing professionals. To ensure optimal care, you provide support and advice to people with chronic conditions and nursing teams.

  5. Research and teaching: With this qualification, you can actively contribute to the further development of nursing practice and elaborate forward-looking approaches. If you wish to continue your academic career, you have the option of progressing to a PhD to further deepen your expertise and perform innovative research projects. Furthermore, a Master’s degree opens the door to a career in teaching. You have the opportunity to pass on your knowledge and experience to future generations of nursing professionals and to guide them on their journey to becoming competent and committed professionals.
