Department of Interdisciplinary Work (IQT)

Sustainable innovation and development require interdisciplinary cooperation. With the Department of Interdisciplinary Work (IQT), interdisciplinarity is firmly integrated into the structure of Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences (OST). Through the interaction of various disciplines, we can create something new together.

Societal and economic questions demand interdisciplinary solutions. The IQT researches and develops these for external partners by promoting interaction between different disciplines – in an innovative, practical and sustainable way. The solutions range from artificial intelligence-assisted physiotherapy, to participatory robots for elderly assistance, to multi-perspective services for communities.

The IQT supplies OST's schools, students, executive education course participants, alumni and third parties with specialist expertise and services. Thanks to the variety of expert knowledge and services on offer, the organizational units of the IQT play an active role in teaching, as well as in carrying out OST's mandate. This diversity, in combination with a deep-rooted interdisciplinary approach, makes the IQT unique.
