Digital Design Studio Space
In the Digital Design program, we focus on the design of user interfaces. This is a collaborative process in which communication and interdisciplinary exchange are essential. For the Digital Design program, we have created an innovative learning environment that promotes these processes and fosters a creative and inspiring learning atmosphere: our studio space.
Classes for the Digital Design program are held in our studio space. This allows prototypes and materials, such as drawing tools, to be stored directly on site. This facilitates continuous work on prototypes and projects.
Layout of the Studio Space
Our studio space is divided into two areas: the learning landscape and the stage.
- The Learning Landscape: Here you will find several levels with integrated work and seating areas. From there, all students can easily follow what is happening on stage, e.g., during lectures, and participate in discussions. In addition, there are special work areas in the learning landscape that can be separated by curtains. These areas create an environment for concentrated work and learning.
- The Stage: This area is the flexible space in the middle of the room. Rollable tables and chairs allow the furniture to be quickly adapted to different forms of learning. For workshops, group workstations can be set up here, or the area can be completely cleared to use the stage for role-playing or presentations. The projection screen is located on the long side of the room to shorten the distance between lecturers and students.
The special design of the studio room not only facilitates communication between teachers and students, but also promotes dialogue and collaboration among students. Direct eye contact and the open design create an ideal environment for discussions and collaborative work.
The different levels make the stage clearly visible from all areas of the room. This is particularly advantageous for presentations or observing exercises (e.g., interviews or usability tests).
