ESA-Messaufträge Flyer

The ESA Institute offers the following measurement jobs:

In impedance measurement, current and voltage are measured synchronously over a longer period of time. Each individual measured value is averaged over 100 mains periods. The impedance is then calculated from this.

High impedance measurements [Ω]

-> Resistors up to Teraohm

Low impedance measurements [µΩ]

Determination of resistances below microohms.

The picture shows a measurement setup for a standard-compliant determination of the surface resistance of a highly conductive passivation layer.

Capacitance measurement [F]

Different instruments are used for capacitance measurements depending on the frequency range. The picture shows the Wayne Kerr 6500B precision impedance analyzer measuring the capacitance of a special sample holder capacitor.

Measurement of the magnetic field of a 4-wire motor cable. The magnetic field is measured radially at different distances and different angles from the cable center. Furthermore, the magnetic field is measured along the length of the cable at different distances. The magnetic field is measured in magnitude and phase.

Measurement of specific resistance ρ [Ωcm] / measurement of specific conductance [S/m]

When measuring the specific resistance or specific conductance, current and voltage are measured synchronously over a longer period of time. Each individual measured value is averaged over 100 network periods. The specific resistance or specific conductance is then calculated using the geometric dimensions and the measured values.

Measurement of relative permittivity ɛr [ ]

The transmission behavior is measured to determine the relative permittivity. The measuring system is calibrated with a known material. Before the test specimen is measured. The relative permittivity can be determined from the measured values.

Measurement of dielectric strength [kV/mm]

We can determine the dielectric strength of solid and viscous materials. Measuring voltages of up to 30 kV are possible. The measurements can be carried out with alternating and direct current. We are constantly developing our measuring equipment. In the near future, our aim is to also be able to measure liquids.

Sliding discharge strength [kV/m]

Testing the resistance to sliding discharges on insulating guy ropes

We also build customized measuring equipment such as a Helmholtz coil in this example. This is required to generate a homogeneous magnetic field. This magnetic field can be used to investigate the switching of a reed relay.
