You can study architecture full-time in six semesters, combined, or part-time in eight semesters. After completing the foundation study, the main study leads to the degree ‘Bachelor of Arts in Architecture’.
Full-time study
The bachelor's degree program lasts six semesters full-time. Classes usually take place five days a week. In addition to the studies, no gainful employment is foreseen.
Part-time study
The part-time study program allows you to combine work and study. During eight semesters, you usually study on three attendance days per week. This allows you to pursue a professional activity of at least 40 percent.
Combined study
The combined study model allows you to make a smooth transition from university to the professional world. During the first two semesters, you will study full-time, then you switch to the part-time study model for the remaining six semesters.
The foundation study period lasts two semesters full-time. You must achieve a total of 60 ECTS points in compulsory and selection modules. In the foundation study, you will mainly be taught the technical, methodical and instrumental architectural basics. The acquired knowledge will be applied and deepened in the design project. From the very beginning, your studies will be varied and practice-oriented.
In the main study period you consolidate and expand the acquired basic knowledge and skills in the context of your analysis and design work. Increasing emphasis is placed on independent learning, thinking and acting in an independent and socially responsible manner. Just as in the foundation study, the acquired knowledge is applied directly. The bachelor thesis is the conclusion of the main study. In the main study, you must achieve at least 120 ECTS credits in addition to the foundation study (divided into compulsory, elective and compusory elective modules).
