The IET has been in existence since 1997 and is closely linked to the Renewable Energies and Environmental Engineering degree program at OST. It consists of 5 fields of expertise with about 38 employees.

With its existing know-how, first-class infrastructure and interdisciplinary cooperation with other institutes, the IET offers support in all areas of energy technology. The projects range from large research projects to new developments of innovative products and consulting projects to student work.
