Preclinical healthcare research
The Preclinical Healthcare Research focus area is an internationally leading center of excellence for the operational and strategic planning of the rescue chain – from emergencies to operations centers, rescue services, and hospital emergency departments. To this end, we combine methods from operations research, statistics, system dynamics, social sciences, and economics with the medical expertise of our partners to provide the best possible decision support for emergency services, health departments, and hospitals. We focus on people and their needs, so we consider medical and non-medical emergencies and a changing social and medical environment to be central tasks of care.
