Automated weed detection and treatment with robots using a 5G mobile network for the data transfer
Drone
A commercial drone acquires high-resolution images and transfers the images via a 5G network to the cloud.
Cloud
The cloud application retrieves the data and computes an orthomosaic from the images. Plants are detected using a deep-learning algorithm; photogrammetry software computes their positions
with one-centimeter accuracy.
