Curriculum Vitae

Yves Mermoud is a research scientist in the Microsystems Engineering Group at OST, where he leads applied research projects focusing on microtechnological solutions that foster innovation in the life sciences sector. His core expertise lies in the miniaturization and integration of analytical sensors for online cell culture monitoring in microphysiological models and miniature bioreactors.

He holds a PhD in Nanosciences from the University of Basel, where he specialized in solid-state biosensors as part of a collaborative project with Empa (the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology). Prior to his PhD, he was a research assistant at the Organs-on-Chip Technologies Lab at the University of Bern, where he contributed to the development of advanced in-vitro models of the lung. He also holds a MSc in Biomedical Engineering and a BSc in Electrical Engineering. He is a member of the Swiss Society for Biomedical Engineering and of the MedTech group at Swiss Engineering STV.
