SWISS AUTOMATION 2025
SWISS AUTOMATION 11.9.2025: Artificial intelligence as a driver of automation
Media release, Rapperswil-Jona, 16 September 2025
This year's SWISS AUTOMATION industry event at OST – University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland focused on artificial intelligence and automation. Around 170 high-profile guests from industry, science and politics took part and discussed the latest developments and their significance for practical application.
A highlight of the programme was the keynote speech by Prof. Dr Guido M. Schuster, Director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Artificial Intelligence (ICAI) at OST. Under the title ‘A Gentle Introduction to AI’, he gave an exciting overview of the emergence and current state of AI technologies. From its beginnings in the 1950s to milestones such as supercomputing and concrete fields of application – such as predictive maintenance, condition monitoring and AI-supported simulation – Schuster showed in a practical way how AI is already changing industry today.
‘We are at the dawn of a new era. Artificial intelligence will change the way we work and make decisions as fundamentally as electricity or the internet once did,’ Schuster emphasised.
In addition to the keynote speech, SWISS AUTOMATION offered a varied programme with further exciting specialist sessions, an interesting exhibition with practical examples and networking opportunities. The discussions made it clear that AI and automation are increasingly merging, opening up enormous opportunities for companies to sustainably increase efficiency, quality and innovative strength.
Conference, exhibition, networking and information exchange at the ‘Symposium on Lab Automation’ & ‘Symposium on Robotics and Industrial Automation’
The 14th Symposium on Lab Automation will take place on Thursday 11 September 2025. Experts from the field of automation and instrumentation in the medical and life science sector will present their latest insights for their peers. We will focus on “AI and AUTOMATION” in the context of innovations and innovative development approaches for laboratory automation.
At the same time, the 5th Symposium on Robotics and Industrial Automation offers an application-orientated platform for the industry with speakers on innovative robotics and automation technologies.
Meet interested partners and competitors and engage in an exciting dialogue. In addition, the advantages of cooperation between companies and universities as well as opportunities for project funding through the Swiss innovation support will be portrayed of projects will be highlighted.
Showcase your expertise and present yourself and your company to the participants at our exhibition. Expand your network and get to know potential co-operation partners for your projects.
Establish yourself - we are convinced that SWISS AUTOMATION is the ideal platform to boost the development of Lab Automation and Robotics and Industrial Automation through interdisciplinary exchange. Be part of this community and foster the market position of your brand!
