To get admission to the Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences you need to bring one of the following certificates:
One of the following formal qualifications is required for admission onto the Bachelor’s program in Business Administration:
- Vocational baccalaureate («Berufsmaturität») (incl. school of economics with specialisation in IT (WMI) and language (WMS))
- Academic baccalaureate («Gymnasiale Maturität»)
- Specialised baccalaureate («Fachmaturität»)
- Diploma from a higher technical college if it corresponds to at least the level of a recognised vocational baccalaureate
- International qualification if it corresponds to at least the level of a recognised vocational baccalaureate
Proficiency in German
International candidates must demonstrate proficiency in German to level C1.
Vocational baccalaureate Business and Services, type «Business» or type «Services»
Candidates with a vocational baccalaureate Business and Services, type «Business» (formerly commercial baccalaureate) or type «Services» (formerly industrial baccalaureate) do not have to meet any additional requirements. They do not have to pass an exam in order to be admitted onto the Bachelor’s program at Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences.
Practical experience without vocational baccalaureate Business and Services
In the case of a vocational baccalaureate in a different discipline, as well as in the case of an academic baccalaureate («gymnasiale Berufsmaturität») and a specialised baccalaureate («Fachmaturität»), candidates must provide evidence of 12 months’ work experience (certificate of employment) in a profession related to the major.
University admission qualifications from EU countries
University admission qualifications from EU countries are recognised as being equivalent to Swiss qualifications if the applicant can provide evidence of previous commercial work experience. Candidates with a foreign-language university admission qualification must also demonstrate proficiency in German to level C1.
Other educational background
Graduates of other courses can be accepted if they have an equivalent academic and professional background. Equivalence is decided by the department head on a case-by-case basis. Candidates may be required to provide evidence of further academic achievements and/or professional experience in order to be admitted onto the course.
