GainBuddy is a program for calculating gross heat yields from solar thermal systems. Yields can be calculated using meteorological data or real measurement data in second and hour resolution. The development of the software was made possible by support from the Federal Office for Energy SFOE and the University of Applied Sciences HSR.
GainBuddy is implemented in the Java programming language. The software runs on a computer with Microsoft Windows operating system and a Java version newer than 1.8.1. (Download current version: www.java.com/download ).
By unpacking the software installation zip file provided by the link on the next page, GainBuddy software will be installed on the computer. To start the GainBuddy, you have to double-click the ‹GainBuddy.jar› file in the GainBuddy folder.
